CFA: Margaret Cavendish’s Philosophy (E-Conference)

On August 21st 2020, the Philosophy Department at Trinity College Dublin will host a one-day virtual conference on Margaret Cavendish’s philosophy. The event will be open to everybody and anybody and information on how to attend will be circulated closer to the date.

We invite submission of abstracts for papers focusing on any aspect of Margaret Cavendish’s philosophy. Abstracts should be 300 words in length (max.) and emailed to margaretcavendishphilosophy@gmail.com.

The deadline for submissions is Friday July 31st 2020. We especially encourage submissions from women, those from typically under-represented groups, and graduate students.

The event will consist of six presentations, each with a Q & A. Papers should be suitable for a 30 minute presentation (via Zoom). Those based outside Europe should note that the event will be scheduled around Dublin time (GMT).

Currently, there are four confirmed speakers with two spaces available. The confirmed speakers are:

Laura Georgescu, The University of Groningen

Jonathan Shaheen, Ghent Univeristy/ FWO

Peter West, Trinity College Dublin
